shes now got the hugest widest nose and its all yellow and pale purple , Im really upset as its made her look all odd round the eyes. Shes not one bit bothered apart from a scream at the time of accident Saturday , I thought the swelling would go down by now. Ive only got Arnica tablets , and witch hazel.

aww your poor dd, did u take her the docs to make sure shes not hurt her nose badley?

melsy · 20/08/2007 17:22

well was going to, but my mum said that she wouldn't be able to break it at such a young age. Everyones said Im worrying to much and making more of it, but she looks really odd.

My ds (3 at the time) fell off a climbing frame and ended up with a swollen nose. iirc it took about 4/5 days for it go down completely. If the nose looks a bit strange after the swelling has gone then i'd go along to your GP.

If there was no bleeding I'm sure she'll be fine. ANd no more riding in the toy buggy!

its still swollen , so should just keep an eye till later in week. Shes such a climbing dare devil child , hard to stop her doing mad things. This was with several adults around too , wish someone had strappoed her in at least.

tbh, i would be inclined to get her lil nose looked at, its probably just swollen but if she ahs damaged it then treatment will be easier before it knitsback together wrong

melsy · 20/08/2007 18:02

awww im sorry i didnt mean to worry you, i just prefer to get those type of things checked out, and your obviously worried or you wouldnt of posted, im sure the doc will say its fine, but better safe than sorry, hope u can salvage your birthday tomoz and have a great day.

Mercy · 20/08/2007 18:05

That's waht I though too loopy - but was told that any possible damage can't be assessed until the swelling goes down.

I think as long as she's not complaining, can eat and breathe normally then just wait a day or so.

And loopy - did you go to your doctor??????? How's the blood pressure?

[super bossy emoticon]

loopylou6 · 20/08/2007 18:08

ive still got 3 days of pill yet mercy, so i will HAVE to go in the next day or so, also i have had a nasty reaction to a bite and i have what looks like a giant egg yolk on my ankle, so i will ask them about that at the same time, will let u know how blood pressure went...thanks for asking

Mercy · 20/08/2007 18:11

oh you poor thing. I get reactions to insect bites too, it's horrible.

Melsy, why not give NHS Direct a call?

melsy · 20/08/2007 20:04

will look at it in the morning and assess from there .

Praying its just swelling and nothing more sinister.

hows your dd today melsy?

melsy · 22/08/2007 09:07

Her nose is getting back to normal shape now , its all gone very yellow and olive green , which is a good sign that its calming down now (so my sister says who's a bruise expert !). Still a little lumpy , bit nowhere near as bad, thank you for asking. Im hoping it will go down completely in the next day or so.
