Pain and lump in breast

Hi all, hoping someone can shed some light, I'm in my 30s, long done breastfeeding and for the last week my right breast has had a large lump, as in most of the breast and is very sore to touch

I'm not sure if I've knocked it and am thinking of going to the doctor to check but a friend said to wait until my period which is in about a week. Should I wait and see if it's goes, I don't want to waste any of the doctors time for nothing. I also think I'm run down as I'm absolutely shattered recently and needing naps in the day, so maybe it's my body being run down?

I guess I'm just asking if anyone has experienced this before please?

I've had similar, but my GP (& breast clinic) have always said - any concerns, go straight in. Don't wait for your period. GP is there to put your mind at rest as much as anything. I'm not saying it from a scary point of view, rather that they will know much better than any of us.

Deffo get checked straight away.

In my mid 30s also long after breastfeeding I get Terrible boob ache in one boob for a week before I'm due on. Bloody hormones suck.
