Day 3 of severe diarrhoea- any tips?

So my hubby and father in law had a diarrhoea bug this week and I came down with it on Thursday morning. The last 2 days I have had constant diarrhoea to the point even drinking water is just coming out of me like water and my bottom is so sore. I am now 52 hours in and still whatever I eat or drink goes through. I feel better in myself though as the last 2 days I also had chills and high temp. Just want it to end as it has caused awful painful piles now.
I only ate 1 biscuit and drank water all day yesterday but ended up feeling worse as I was starving and weak so today have had some biscuits and apple sauce.

Websites say consult a GP if diorrhea goes on longer than 3 days. Is it normal to go on so long? Usually a dicky tummy clears in a day for me. I feel otherwise well today just a sore bottom and weak from no food.

I had this last Xmas and it lasted about 5 days. I kept drinking water but just a few sips every half an hour, although it went through me at least I was keeping some of it down. You could try something binding like scrambled eggs, in tiny amounts

My husband has had food poisoning since Sunday and we were told after 7 days they would do a stool sample if needed.
Hope you feel better soon x

Thanks ladies looks like I just need to ride the sh8t storm excuse the pun and hope it clears soon. Will keep sipping water. Part of me is thinking I may as well eat as I'm passing everything anyway but do not want to prolong it so will stick to the water x

You need rehydration sachets as well as water.

It's awful he was crapping fresh blood! (Don't be too alarmed if that happens as it's irritation/piles)
He has only today come and sat downstairs the rest of the time he has been in bed/bathroom (fun with 5 people and 1 toilet). Shock

I used to work in healthcare OP and we were always told not to eat anything until 12 clear hours after your last bowel motion. That way your gut gets a good rest - and to drink cooled boiled water so you're not adding any extra germs in. You can add salt and sugar to it (that's all that rehydration sachets are) or drink flat coke as that seems to clear out any lingering bacteria too.

Thanks ladies x I will not eat anything just so hungry
