i know, the pain is just crazy-bad! mine kept me awake too, but have calmed down a BIT now, but not much.

i think i will be back to the doctors though.

I have had them all my adult life and they got even worse with my pregnancies and births. The ONLY thing that works (and it really does work) is Proctofoam. Get your gp to prescribe it. Directions say to apply internally, but my suggestion is to apply externally first, wait a few minutes and then apply internally.....

multitasker · 17/08/2007 18:28

Xyloproct (sp?) ointment was the only thing that worked for me. I've been troubled with them on and off since my first dc. Sooo uncomfortable, I do sympathise. There are suppositories too - protosydl, that helped numb the area, and I must admit in desperation to trying to push them back in. Stay away from the bath - I think it makes them worse. Be careful with the weetabix - I had to go hard core - All Bran .No plain bread or cakes, lots of fruit and veg.
And try and stay off your feet if you get the chance.

ok, fed up of name changing, yes-its me, walkinglikeacowboy

i got the wrong toilet roll, it was meant to be aloe vera, but got perfumed instead- any reccomendations?

am back at GP's on Thur, so will see if i can get something else, i've got anosol(sp) and another one, thats meant to be stronger, but it doesn't help at all! like the sound of the numbing effect suppository, yes thats how desperate i am! can you use when pg?
