Sore throat - should I go to the GP?

I have a sore throat, my neck is also tender and I feel generally tired and grotty. Basically exactly like I have a bad cold coming, except it's been going on around 4 weeks now and no cold has come.

Should I visit the Dr? I don't want to go to the GP with essentially a cold, but at the same time I've been feeling like this for weeks with no change and I'm worried that there's something else going on.

Should I wait it out a bit more? I can cope if its going to go away but it's getting me down a bit and I'm worried it won't. Please help!

No. I would not go to the GP with a sore throat. Just wait a bit longer.

I was iffy for a few weeks but couldn't put my finger on it (like I was about to have a cold).

You could ask for a telephone appointment and see if they want to see you.

Flowers that sounds miserable.

This might help you decide. It’s been going on long enough that it’s appropriate to see a doctor.

big coat if I knew it was just a cold sore throat I obviously wouldn't go, im just worried it's not going to get better

Purple Thankyou!

I think I'm gonna give it over the weekend and see if there's any change, if not I'll ring the GP on Monday. I'm fed up of feeling grotty!

You could take Vicks first defence and see if it goes away? It gathers all the germs together in the nose and then when it reaches the stomach your immune system can easily get rid. Hope you feel better soon 💐

Sorry Blue - it must be horrible and my post sounds abrupt now.

What about your local pharmacist? Perhaps they could help.

I suffer from ulcers and sore throats (admittedly not for 4 weeks) and find the Chloraseptic spray effective.

Good luck.
