Could an Ferritin level of 13 explain chest pains and general anxiety?

Just that really. Struggled with anxiety/chest pains for a few years and although antidepressants have helped a bit I'm still having symptoms. I've just had my iron levels checked and they are 13 ug so would that be low enough to cause these symptoms? I'm seeing my gp in a week. Thanks x

Not sure about the chest pains, but when mine was low I definitely had palpitations and felt anxious.

Thanks Wrong. Did they stop once you started taking It?

Not straight away, it took a few weeks before I started to feel better.

Oh crikey yes! I had low ferritin for years and constantly had these symptoms...the optimum level is apparently about 70, up to about 150 at the top end. I started on hefty iron tablets (max dose) and felt better after 2 weeks but my guts struggled a bit.

A level of 13 is not anemic so not not sure? I have just been prescribed iron tablets as a fbc showed my level to be 11.7 which I was told was slightly anemic as it should be 12 or over.
My symptoms were dizziness, extreme tiredness at times other times I just felt tired, no energy and a general feeling of brain fog. I do have chest pains randomly sometimes not sure if that's connected though.

13 is close enough - I think that you perhaps wouldn't feel fine all the way down to 13 and then bam! suddenly get all those symptoms> It stand to reason that you would be starting to feel really rubbish now. The numbers just represent the level they start treatment at, or it becomes an issue that needs treatment. I had hair loss which was iron related and that didn't start to kick back in until I got my levels right up. My energy recovered before then.
