ds is havin an allergic reaction to god knows what face all red lips swollen eyes running few blotches on arms and legs gave double piriton 15 mins ago no improvement but not getting any worse tongue a bit itchy cos he keeps rubbing it.

do i give epi-pen or more piriton he's 2.7

The consultant did give us a print out with info on it but its just all about anaphlaxis not when to administer epi-pen
They have just said when in doubt use it.

Just out of interest at what stage of a reaction would you administer the epi-pen.

BTW he is absolutly fine today not a care in the world its me that daren't feed him lol

ali if you have more than one epipen and the first doesn't seem to be working you can adminster a second one after 5 or 10 minutes.

The medical reference Kerry posted shows it isn't always easy even for professionals to tell when to use a pen. If you use it and it wasn't necessary you get a slightly hyper child. If you don't use and it was necessary you have a very worrying time. After a reaction as severe as your lads I'd be tempted to use the epipen at the first sign of any sort of reaction, certainly when there was any facial swelling/ itchy tongue/ going floppy.
