Massive boil on my chin...help please!

I had what I thought was a nasty spot coming up on my chin but in the last couple of days its grown to the size of a 5 pence piece and looks like a boil. It’s sore and is kind of spongy in texture. There’s no ‘head’ on it so to speak but there’s definitely yellow pus under the surface.

Currently got a hot compress on it but is there anything else I can do? It looks bloody awful!

Could it be a cold sore as I occasionally get one on my chin rather than lip

Merename · 08/10/2019 19:09

Magnesium sulphate paste to bring it to a head?

NotYourHolidayDick · 08/10/2019 19:10

You take a photo of it obviously.

Then prick it with a needle and squeeze, biting through the pain, keep squeezing, while somebody else films it, then uploads it here.

I get these. If a tighten my skin I can see yellow under the skin. I get my knuckles rather than fingertips and squeeze. HARD. 70% of the time they explode with a satisfying crunch. The other 30% it just hurts to buggery!

Cystic acne? Be careful not to squeeze, I had mild scarring from mine years ago as I had no idea what it was. Hormonal reasons for me...

@NotYourHolidayDick I’m tempted to take a photo, it’s an absolute belter!

@Merename that’s a good shout, the pharmacy’s still open so might pop [no pun intended] out now to get some

Just gave it a good squeeze with my knuckles and the bugger’s not budging! A tiny bit of clear liquid came out but that was it. Might try popping it with a needle.

Can you share a picture so we can best advise you? And get your thread moved to sporners corner - we’re the experts

Don’t pop it if it has no head. Do you have any aspirin to make a mask?
