Cradle cap removal without hairloss

Can anyone offer any advice as to how to get rid of cradle cap without any of the baby's hair falling out? Ds1 lost all his hair when I did the oil overnight trick, ds2 just kept his hair and his cradle cap (!) and dd now has a lovely crop of hair but also cradle cap. I'd love to treat it but really don't want her hair to fall out. She is 6 months.

Thanks

Detinox shampoo and then combing after towell drying. This removes the dead skin. This worked on ds after about 1 week

just been recommended to use a boiled solution of water with fresh sage and thyme in it, for both me (severe dry scalp and over sensitive skin) and baby 10 weeks with cradle cap. Basically 500ml of water with a bunch of each herb and boil down to 250ml let it cool and spray onto scalp and leave apparently works a treat!!!! Will let you know if i ever get the chance to actually put it on either me or dds2

Is the detinox stuff over the counter or prescription?

An old old grandma's trick was to mix petroleum jelly with baby powder until it's thick but can still be rubbed on. Put on and rub in to the areas with the cradle cap. Wait for 30 min and use mild baby shampoo to wash the vasoline and babypowder off using a small baby comb to help. I washed his hair twice. The first time I used the comb and a fair amount of baby shampoo to remove the vasoline and baby powder. The 2nd time I just used the shampoo.

I never had trouble with shampooing. I held the baby in a football position over the sink. Water and soap didn't get into his eyes, so he didn't mind it.

2 sets of this treatment in one week cured my son of a heavy case of cradle cap at 4 months. Never came back. He's 36 now
