Lump feeling but no lump under my foot??

Strange one here and am unsure whether it warrants a GP visit so thought I would ask if anyone else has experience this.

If I'm barefoot or just in socks I have a weird sensation of a lump in the ball of my foot. It's not painful at all just uncomfortable, like you are walking on a scrunched up sock. I've had a good feel and I can't feel a lump or any swelling compared to the other "normal" foot? And I don't get the same feeling if I'm wearing shoes?

Any ideas?

Morton's neuroma?

Morton's neuroma feels like that. Don't freak out, it's not the scary kind of -oma. It's a twisted nerve-ending. It can be treated with orthotics or surgery.

Thanks for the replies and the link. Yes it feels very much like that!

I may get a cushioned insole and give it a couple of weeks and if no better then see GP. Like I say it's not painful at all, just a very strange sensation and a bit uncomfortable!
