Is there any damn reason why my norks have been sore balloons for a week now, given the extreme unlikeliness that I am up the duff? Am I just heading for menopause?

Do you take calcium supplements though?

themoon66 · 12/08/2007 23:19

Nadine... you look fab for 56.... who'd have thought

WendyWeber · 12/08/2007 23:20

Maybe the Sally Army? Or Surestart? They are so expensive to buy, even on deals, when you are skint.

WendyWeber · 12/08/2007 23:21

Blimey, NB - that was early!

oh do you think you are Calif? Both my mother and sister menopaused late 30's.

are you referring to my pentapeptide success?

WendyWeber · 12/08/2007 23:29

Onset of menstruation: Year in which the menopause should occur
In the 10th year: 50th to 52nd year
In the 16th year: 38th to 40th year
In the 20th year: 30th to 32nd year

from here (seems to be a 1938 publication)

NadineBaggott · 12/08/2007 23:29

that last bit to moon66

NadineBaggott · 12/08/2007 23:30

oh WW that would be right for me then, there abouts

southeastastra · 12/08/2007 23:31

my theory is once you reach your late 30s and decide not to have any more children, your boobs go mental and have to come to terms with it

Cammelia · 12/08/2007 23:32

This is so not going to make MI feel better

I like that theory SEA. It sounds plausible.

Cammelia · 12/08/2007 23:33

How do your boobs know you;ve decided not to have any more children

southeastastra · 12/08/2007 23:35

my boobs are very intelligent thank you!

Just hunted the internet to ask why I had huge boobs all of a sudden.(not pg for sure - well unless dh has self regenerated after the snip!!).
Internet absolutely no help, then found this thread. Fantastic. Totally agree with SEA. But did wonder for a few months if dh had found a magic lamp!

I went through this stage about 5 years ago then aged 41. Doctor prescribed evening primrose oil capsules (Efemast?) which helped a bit.

However, it just went away of it's own accorg. Now 46 and still have regular periods.

I think it's just one of those hormonal things us women have to put up with

MI - mine are huge at the moment (by my own standards), but then again, I am up the duff

My mum's menopause started in her late 30s so you are, of course, entirely within the range of possibility.

mears · 13/08/2007 09:23

could be this

Efamast was withdrawn in 2002 as an NHS funded drug BTW.

Wags · 13/08/2007 09:31

WendyWeber, someone told me that as well. I started my periods at 15 and started an early menopause at 40. Then had 2 children at 41 and 43 but am definately more menopausal now and feeling quite crap with it although have never had sore norks. Period never came back after having DS 2 years ago, but out of the blue had a period a few months ago.
