Has anyone else been bitten by mosquitoes in the UK recently?

According to my parents, there have been lots of reports of this happening, but I haven't heard any.

I got bitten twice at the start of this week, and was cynical about them actually being from mosquitoes, but last night I heard and then saw one in my room.

Are we being invaded ?

kat, my bite is a pink circle (was a blotchy shape to begin with) with a pinprick hole in the centre. After a while the hole oozes when you scratch it.

yep. Am covered after a weekend in the garden in London.

Am about to go to the chemist as have heard that if you take vit B tablets, you won't get bitten (possibly the marmite connection). Am off to spain in a couple of weeks and the bites ruined my last hol.

I am really covered. Our house backs onto a field and park and I take the dogs there every day. Have sprayed myself with insect repellent but not working
Have been eating marmite too!

I would love to have my legs out for the summer but they look awful
