I hope you're not over reacting ... i'm rn and had anti-d too - what's this all about??

CountessDracula · 22/09/2004 16:26

Was it before 1999 Socci?

I got the heebiejeebies too, but had my 10 litre blood transfusion in 2002 so should be safe I hope.

Doesn't stop me worrying about what the next thing they find will be though.

Me too but don't worry - nothing you can do about it now. Stressing over a small risk of something that you can't change makes no sense to me.

I'm Rhes Neg - and have had 4 lots of Anti-D (first lot given almost 9 years ago).

Haven't read the latest news re: CJD but at the end of the day, what is the point worrying about it now?

I've just read the news item on BBC News Health. It related to blood products prior to 1999 (when new safety regulations were bought in).

I had mine in 1995, 1997 x 2, and 1999.

I have had plasma products and blood practically every few years since 1985,last time in 2000 I am really worried too as they are sending out letters but apparently the risk is v low
