My lo has been off colour since the weekend, sick for the first time monday evening. Slept ok and went to nursery again next day. He ate fine they said, was a bit sick that evening, went to nursery on the weds, fine.

Last night, went to bed, woke half hourly from then on, either to be sick or scream. Pain killers didn;t seem to touch it. Writhing around the bed, could not seem to get comfy - when i asked what hurt he touched his back. this morning he is lethargic, but in fairly good spirits. Threw up the rich tea biscuit i allowed him and is now lying next to me on sofa. Doesn't seem to want to stand or sit only lie down.

Is it just a tummy bug? i have booked docs for half eleven.

hmm, any rash? Don't want to be alarmist, but I'd take him to the doc - stiff neck can be a meningitis symptom, no?

Meeely2 · 09/08/2007 09:31

no rash ME, he's had molloscum contagiosum for about a year so covered in wart like spots.

Leati, i was thinking dehydration too, he's had plenty of water this am and done a big wee on my lounge floor!

he now asleep on the sofa.

Constipation can cause back ache and vomiting

Meeely2 · 09/08/2007 09:43

good point louii, he's just had a big firm poo and fallen asleep!

Could be a urine infection and pain is in kidney region. Try and take a specimen of urine with you if can in a sterilised bottle (old medicine bottle boiled if you don't have one)

If he's been vommitting for a couple of days he could have pulled a muscle in his back with the retching (sp?) Let us know how you get on at the docs.

louii · 09/08/2007 09:45

Had he not been for a few days, maybe was juat needing to go?

Meeely2 · 09/08/2007 10:37

louii, he's at nursery full time and potty trained so they don't give me a list of his poos and wees anymore.....so as bad as it sounds i don't know if he's had a poo in the last few days!

This could be a kidney infection - which would need to be seen, so well done for booking the docs.

Meeely2 · 09/08/2007 12:55

have to get a sample out of him somehow but he has AB's in the meantime - he is currently fighting sleep on the sofa, writhing around again.

meely i would try ang get him to take stuff for constipation as well, u never know, orange juice, prunes, whatever else.

hope he feels better soon.

Meeely2 · 09/08/2007 13:06

thanks i would louii, but he not keeping anything down! Doc said his tummy isnt sore, he could just have a virus that is making him ache. He tends to get sicky when he has a cough too.
