Sore patch in mouth - any dentists out there?

I’ve had an ulcerated area/patch in my mouth for just over 3 weeks which may have been caused by tasting hot food straight from the saucepan but I can’t be sure. It was very painful to start with and I couldn’t eat on that side. I went to the dentist after about 2 weeks who said that it looked like it was caused by trauma and that it was nothing to be worried about. She told me to come back after a week to review it. As she was on holiday I saw another dentist as although it had improved and was no longer painful, it hadn’t completely healed. He also said it looked like trauma and that he had zero concerns about it and if he did, he'd be referring me. He didn’t really suggest any follow up.

A week later it still hasn’t healed completely. I’m a bit concerned as I know lesions/sores in the mouth should resolve within 3 weeks as the mouth heals faster than the rest of the body. So it’s nearly 4 weeks now since I first noticed it. Should I be at all concerned or just be reassured by what two separate dentists have told me? I have health anxiety and am terrified of cancer which doesn't help...
