who buys contact lenses online, esp looking for usa providers who do not ask for bloody opticians details, cos that would be the best, ie the cheapest

I am on a serious economy drive, and need to get contacts from abraod now, but all the usa ones ask you to fill in your optician's details. I have a freind in usa I can get them sent to. it is incredible how mcuh cheaper they r there.

I used to get online contacts when I lived in the US, and I remember the site asked for me to mail or phone in my prescription. I didn't do this, but they still sent the lenses to me!

Not that it's the right thing to do, but have you tried a dummy optician address?

hmm, must give that a go, maybe just look up any old address near to where my firend lives, but i dont want to get her into trub.

We were in the US on holiday in the last couple of weeks and DS managed to lose his glasses. We had to do an eyetest and then get glasses for him. The optician absolutely insisted on a US address for him. It didn't matter that we lived abroad and were only in the area for two weeks.

We gave them a fake address in the end - told them it was a fake, and they said they were happy with it. Their computer wouldn't work without it.
