Awaiting ultrasound - uneven belly fat and firmer one side?

Hey everyone
So about a month ago I had wind in my right hand side that went on for about 2 days and when I was looking down I happened to notice right side of my belly fat stuck out slightly more than the left and when I pressed down the right hand side of my tummy (just below belly button level and to the right) felt firmer. Not a lump but deffo not as squishy as the left side. I had my son 6 years ago and I do have diastis recti as I have a gap of about 3 fingers. Saw GP last week who was lovely said he did not feel any mass or lumps and said it could just be how my tummy is and that everything felt nice and soft and said was a bit firmer but he was not worried but referring me for an ultrasound as in his words 'you know your body best and noticed a change'. I also get what feels like a babys foot in my ribs on the right side sometimes when I sit awkward. Anyone else ever have anything similar? Praying they do not discover ovarian or liver cancer or something x

I have had / am having literally exactly the same symptoms! When I lie flat on my back one side of my belly to the side and below my navel is noticeably rised. That side is firm while the other side is soft and squishy - in my case the 'mass' occasionally switches sides. I also have the occasional feeling of quite intense fullness / pressure. Almost like my liver is being squished against my ribs.

After a visit to the GP, ultrasound and CT it's been confirmed that I have a 'huge' dermoid cyst on my left ovary. 'Steve' measures 17x12x10cm and will be removed in 2 weeks! They're 'overwhelming benign' so nothing to worry about.

Fingers crossed you get answers quickly and it is a simple fix :)

Thank you:) hope all goes really well

When I lay down it is not as noticeable it is mainly when i stand and my firmness does not move. Hoping mine is something as straight forward though I would be terrified of surgery x

Watching this thread with interest. I have a lot of the similar issues. But what is concerned about the most is my hip and along my stomach on the right side is feeling firmer and swollen.

I have the right side of my tummy noticeably higher for years and years, I notice it in the bath. I've never given it a second thought. Should I?

Sorensmum · 28/08/2019 07:46

@spashy how long have you had yours for? X

@YouLookGood I would say if you had it years it is certainly not sinister but just go and see what Dr says.

I had this and it was a massive cyst. I could squish and move mine about! Got it removed with no problems.

fruttututti · 28/08/2019 07:49

On my ovary obviously.

Sorensmum · 28/08/2019 08:12

@fruttututti were you in pain and was the bulge very noticable including when laying down? I'm ok when laying flat it's so bizarre. Honestly would be terrified of an OP....such a baby

No pain no! I was in my early twenties and kept putting it down to how much alcohol I was drinking! Shock
But eventually I lost some weight and it became very pronounced, when I went to the gp he was convinced I was about 3 months pregnant!

Hello - hope you’re doing well now. Did you ever find out what caused it? I have the right side sticking out more than the left, unsure why.
