Yes. It took ages for various swellings to go down. Be strict about not straining - Movicol with lots of water ( it needs water to work ) to keep bowel movements soft, and don't lift anything at all heavy. When's your follow-up appointment? If you haven't got one and if it still feels wrong in a couple more weeks, go back to the GP and ask
if they can refer you back to the consultant.

@Jackieap , you've had no other replies so I'm calling your attention to mine in case it helps.

Watching as about to go for rectocele, intussusception, cystocele, enterocele repair in coming months.

Hope the swelling goes down and you make a speedy recovery Flowers

Thanks have been doing everything I should had appointments with gp who has referred me back for emergency appointment I’m so distraught! I can’t take more time off work I’m desperate to get back to normal but have been struggling for so long with severe rectocele I was actually excited about op and have had previous anterior cervix removal and rebuild so knew what was coming but couldn’t cope anymore with everything hanging out !!

I've no experience but I really feel for you in this situation and hope that the repair is successful and you feel better soon.
