I think it’s the least waste of money ever. You’re lucky you haven’t used it but we use it for anything which needs a referral and which is covered. My husband is being treated for incurable cancer. Trust me, if it wasn’t for private healthcare he wouldn’t get here today. He has been able to access treatment the NHS wouldn’t even begin to consider. Worth every single penny.
Prior to that we use it instead of the NHS, I can’t think why you would use NHS if you’re covered privately, it’s like night and day. Kids have had all sorts of appointments and treatments, back op for husband, same day appointments at the 1 stop breast clinic, appointments only with specialists that you choose and never with registrars and never having to tell your story again and again and get conflicting opinions. Appointments are convenient times when you are in and out in half an hour rather than spending hours in a clinic and in my experience the luxury of time!
One example, DH has had to see his oncologist in his NHS clinic a couple of times. NHS clinic, quick appointment, summary of results, quick agreement on next treatment. Privately, appointment as long as it needs to be, bloods taken in the room, full breakdown and discussion of results, reports printed off and given to us goes through all scans on computer to explain every single thing, answers questions, makes referrals there and then.
