not sure where to post this message. i have a 4 week old baby who is being breast fed. he had not had a poo for 3 days so i took him to the doctor, whilst examing him he did a poo which was quiet funny. she said that because he is breast fed he will not get constipated and they do not worry about it but again we are on day 3 and no poo, tomorrow will be day 4, should i take him back? how long have others left it? he is weeing lots and eating plenty and is fine in himself its just worrying me.

It seems to vary wildly - I had a friend whose bf DD only pooed once a week (always on a Friday evening, apparently). Was normal for her. I wouldn't worry unless he seems unhappy, or if you can work out a pattern (I never could with mine), which subsequently changes a lot, iyswim.

DD used to poo every 10-14 days. It was wonderful for washing nappies! I can't remember how early they were so infrequent but possibly from about a month until she was weaned.
