UTI and going on holiday tomorrow (camping)

Pretty sure I have early symptoms of a UTI, GP surgery now closed and I’m off on holiday tomorrow morning camping with poor toilet facilities 😭. What’s my chance of flushing it through by drinking lots of water?

Last time I went camping I had a UTI and it was a nightmare.

Can you get to a pharmacy OP? Some of them can prescribe. Otherwise drink drink drink! Could you call your GP first thing? Ours treat UTIs over the phone and you just pop in to collect the antibiotics. Hope you feel better!

My mum used to get loads of UTI s, the gp always said that she could try flushing it out by doubling what she drank and drinking cranberry juice too. Sometimes it worked.

What time are you leaving tomorrow because if you could get an emergency appointment you could get the antibiotics. Alternatively do you have a walk in centre you could go to now?

Flowers rotten luck just before your holiday.

Local pharmacy shut at 5.30pm, I live in a village (gp surgery in village), everything shut at 5.30pm 😭, I don’t really want antibiotics as they always make me feel rubbish. I will try and drink loads and see how I am in the morning, I might be able to get an emergency appointment first thing but we are leaving at 10.30am (ish).

U could try baking soda and d mannose tablets

Cranberry juice is good for UTI's and water.
If not, look where you are going and see if they have a GP surgery where you could register as a temporary patient to be seen or see where their walk in centre is? So at least you know you can be treated if needed Smile

I had symptoms late on a Sunday once (doubled over in pain). I googled which said baking soda can help and I have to say it did work for me! Fingers crossed for you.

I've suffered with UTI's a lot and I really feel for you as it's really the worst pain 😩 if I've not managed to get antibiotics in the past I've bought the cystitis powders and mixed 2 sachets in a pint of water and drank that, along with lots and lots of water and cranberry juice.. I'd say 8x out of 10 that's worked for me but unfortunately not always 😣 good luck though if you try flushing it out yourself tonight, hope it works so you can enjoy your holiday! Thanks

I do get it quite often, last year I was passing blood and managed to get antibiotics the day before we went. Got to where we were camping and all they had was 2 compost loos which were across the field to where we were camping, I spent most of the time walking to the loo, walking back and the going straight back again ☹️

I’m drinking loads of water, hopefully I will feel better in the morning, it’s not too bad at the moment, just a bit of a pain when I pee.

The powders help and taste a bit nicer than just bicarbonate of soda in water, and they’re pretty cheap and you can get them at the supermarket. I’d go and get a pack now.

Feeling much better this morning, didn’t get much sleep as peeing a lot due to drinking so much but I think I have flushed it through, will continue to drink lots of water today.

Lovemusic glad to hear you're feeling better, there's nothing worse than a Uti! 😫
