DH has been feeling a bit off colour ,headache,achy etc.
Put it down to being an old fart the day at the beach surfing with Ds making him a bit sore ,this was 2 days ago.

He's just asked me to put some bite cream on his shoulder as it's itching but I'm not sure it's bites/stings?

What do you think ?

Shingles?

WatcherOfTheNight · 28/07/2019 18:37

Thanks @MellowMelly ,that's what I thought too, but I've not seen the rash in person before.
Will have to keep an eye on it ,see if it spreads .

Shingles is tender and painful to touch, not itchy. Looks like bites to me.

WatcherOfTheNight · 28/07/2019 18:49

I'd much rather they be bites ! What would bite or sting like that ? He has been in the garden regularly & at the beach in just shorts this week (but not today )

I do need to be sure as we are in regular contact with a very frail elderly person & also 2 family members who've recently had chemo/radio therapy & I don't know what it would mean for them .

DS had shingles and it was itchy. Took a few days to blister - it started as a patch, they started to blister, then another patch appeared, turn another. I think you'll know in a couple of days.

Thanks @Cuddlysnowleopard ,I think you are right ,it will be a watch & wait .
Will keep close to home until sure .

@WatcherOfTheNight

I had a very similar outbreak of shingles in just one patch on my shoulder. Ridiculously itchy. Doctor said it was a mild outbreak and it cleared in a little over a week. Hopefully your husband will be lucky and it won’t spread.
