Erythromycin not working - what to do - I am in AGONY! (tooth related so no need to get too excited)

I have a manky tooth - needs to come out but the infection has to be cleared first. It hurts so, sooooo much and I am now vomiting and having abdominal pain because of either the Nurofen, Codeine, Paracetamol or Antibiotics or all 3.

Started 4 tabs a day does of ABs on Sunday - surely they should be working a bit by now.

What do I do? Help me, I need simple instructions.

Have not taken Codeine since lunch as tummy hurts to much and I think I will vom if I do but the pain is tooooooooooooooo muuuuuuuuuuch!

Really thirtysomthing? How awful for you. My pain was right below my ribcage also, I described it as around my diaphragm and it didn't go when I stopped taking the Erythromycin either - took at least 48 hrs. It was exactly the same pain last time and was too unbearable to continue with tablets.

Mine woke my up several times in the night but didn't keep me awake and I'd say it came in waves.

I wonder...I am allergic to penicillin now after having it IV for Quinsy about 8 years ago.

I would ask your doctor about you maybe having had an allergic reaction. My pain also receded within a couple of days of stopping the tablets. They couldn't give me any treatment other than monitor me and within two weeks my liver enzymes were back o normal. it sounds to me like you maybe had the same problem.
