Can anyone recommend a rheumatologist I can see for possible arthritis? It could be anyone in London or Herts. Thank you!

Can't you get a referral from your GP?

Luscinia · 22/07/2019 20:39

Speaking as someone who has seen several rheumatologists, they are all much of a muchness.

Thank you. I'm referred on nhs but told there is a long wait so as I have insurance I can get a first appointment to diagnose privately

Get your GP to pick someone they like. As Luscinia says, there generally isn't a difference and your GP will know if locally there is someone they absolutely loathe.

Which type of arthritis? Rheumatoid?

Spainintherain · 24/07/2019 11:12

Oh Blimey I didn't know g p would have preference. I have just found someone local as you say they are all the same. They are testing for rheumatoid arthritis first

The GP can do that, don't pay for it.

Has the GP done any basic bloods for RA or similar?

Spainintherain · 24/07/2019 19:43

She did basic bloods which apparently the other gp who saw me for results said they are not adequate testing for RA.
