OK - plan B - Berocca tablets - good for hangovers AND spots. (no scientific basis for this)

nightowl · 30/07/2007 23:36

leave them alone! stop putting lots of different lotions and potions on them. stick to one thing.

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 30/07/2007 23:43

Origins spot remover. Gel in a tiny bottle that you put on at night. It forms a film over the zit & in the morning it is smaller and less red. I think it's about £12, and worth every penny.

Tis truly marvellous

Beauregard · 30/07/2007 23:44

Thanks will give it a try.

Oh they're horrible, I feel for you. I spent my teenage years with great big bloody cystic acne all over my face. Bastards.

jabberwocky · 31/07/2007 05:49

witch hazel is good. Also, could you go to an aesthetician (sp?) and get them zapped?

sasquatch · 03/08/2007 21:25

this may be too late, but try this: take a dispersable aspirin, crush it and mix to a paste with tiny bit of water, apply at night, I find it works and doesnt dry out my skin as some proprietary spot gels do. Good luck.

Beauregard · 03/08/2007 21:28

Thanks
Still have the spots so will have to add aspirin to the list, that or have a face transplant.
actually..............

do they have heads on or are they just literally boil-like?

Ones with heads are best steamed out, trying to dry them will have no real effect.

Boil-like ones (papules) are generally a reaction to something topical (ie different make-up, skin care which doesnt agree with you) have you been using anything different recently.

Beauregard · 04/08/2007 11:35

Hi yes they are like boils really.
I tend to get them if i am not on the pill .

ib · 04/08/2007 13:24

Are you taking an omega 3 supplement? I find that a flax seed oil and a zinc pill a day make more difference to my skin than all the potions (I use potions too, though, just in case )

nappyaddict · 04/08/2007 13:27

benefit do one called kapow.

notasheep · 04/08/2007 13:33

Same advice as legalalien-toothpaste.
I get the horrid boil like ones too.
One behind my ear i got a girlfriend to squeeze and the contents hit the ceiling

nappyaddict · 04/08/2007 13:53

pure t do a skin balancing gel which is meant to be good

and my friend swears by paula's choice 2% liquid solution

Beauregard · 04/08/2007 19:59

OMG so much to choose from!
Thanks everyone

Re the omega 3 -I took it twice and was quite ill as i am veggie and it really upset my stomach but the flax oil i could try instead.
