All i can see is a slight pinkness... is that what you mean? If so, itprobably sun burn

Thanks for the replies. It’s the raised area. It does look a but pink aground it but think it’s just the light. I’ve attached another photo which maybe shows it clearer.

My mum had one just like it on her head, it was a (totally benign) lipoma. She had it removed for cosmetic reasons.

Is it slightly scaly, a bit like cradle cap? Both my primary aged DC have had something like this, for a few years now - both have bald spots in the affected areas. They saw a dermatologist, who initially treated them for ringworm, but that did very little and now we're all stumped as to what it could be.

Try Nizoral shampoo from the pharmacy, I'm pretty sure you can buy it without a script.
