I’ve spotted these marks just above my knee this morning (excuse the hairy legs!), and a bit curious as to what they might be. They don’t blanch, but I don’t feel I’ll or anything. Don’t seem to have them anywhere else. No pain or itching... not expecting a diagnosis but wondered if anyone might shed any light...

Could you have gently knocked your knee and it's internal bruising?

They are called petechiae, several possible causes, but unless you have meningitis symptoms alongside, generally nothing to worry about, but can signify other ailments.

I get it frequently due to Ehlers Danlos, usually due to a bit of pressure in the area, such as shoulders from handbag straps. I've had this on my knees before & was caused by my knees hitting the underside of the desk, could that be the cause?

Thanks both. Some sort of trauma seems like the obvious cause, though I have no recollection of doing anything!

Hello, I have the same thing but I also have covid at the moment. Not sure if it's a serious issue or not
