Is this some kind of menstrual swansong?

I am 48
Periods have been erratic for a while - and much lighter than they used to be. They stopped altogether in January and I thought that was it (also had some meno symptoms - weight gain/exhaustion etc). Then had a light period in June and then last week, well, a fucking blood bath started that hasn't stopped.

Day six now of the heaviest period I've had for years . Leaking through at least one or two pairs of knickers a day (despite tampon and pad) and have that bloated, heavy feeling that you get with a 'big' period.

Is this indicative of a 'Final Performance'? Is this horror show just to make me feel better about getting older and not having periods any more. Should i try to enjoy it instead of feeling like a bag of aching shit?

Genuinely curious to find out if this is 'normal' and means I am definitely going into menopause?

You need to see a doctor.
