Itchy nape of neck and behind ear- scalp psoriasis?

I presume that's what it is via dr google, the skin behind my ear is particularly bad, sore and flaky and it's making me feel really gross. I need to get my haircut but feel embarrassed about it!
I've been using t gel shampoo but it doesn't seem to be making any difference. Am putting e45 behind my ear but no idea if that is the right thing to do. I'm trying not to itch but it drives me mad!
Any other suggestions?

Join www.psoriasis-association.org.uk/psoriasis-and-treatments/ - lots of good advice and articles.

Problem with psoriasis, different things work for different people.

Try using a very gentle shampoo, fragrance free shower gel, moisturise twice a day using Cetraben.

Changing diet might also help. And avoiding stress. Good luck. It’s a bitch.

Thank you I will try all of that! Hopefully something will work. It doesn't seem to be getting any worse but also isn't getting better.

Might it be eczema rather than psoriasis? theunrivalledjoys' suggestions can still be useful for eczema too.

I don't know it's quite flaky which made me presume it was more likely to be psioriasis.

Go to pharmacist?

teleportingturtle · 09/07/2019 08:48

Yes I'll do that too, thanks.

I used to get eczema behind my ears which was flaky. I think a lot of it was food-related (now diagnosed coeliac so gluten-free, but coeliac can also cause issues with dairy so I'm not sure exactly what it was that was the cause of mine), but it has gone now.

I have just purchased Hydromol Ointment from Amazon. It does seem to be easing
