Since I had my youngest son I experienced really bad back pain. For the first 6 months I put up with it because I thought it would go away. But it only got worse.
I finally went to the doctors. They doctor threw some co-codamol at me and sent me on my way. I ended up going back and because I couldn’t sit down without being in agony.
I was refereed for physio, the earliest appointment I could get was in the beginning of August.
Since then I have noticed I only have to move my hand or foot in a particular way and I’m in agony.
My mum has issues with her back and her joints but he GP has never found what the reason was.
I know that your joint are a lot more lax after having a baby but it been over a year now.
Have any of you experienced this? Has it been long term?
Thanks

My daughter is 28. When pregnant I was advised by a physiotherapist no less to sit with my feet up to counteract swollen ankles. My lower back is totally fucked. I am in discomfort most of the time, and in agony after pushing a supermarket trolley or vacuum.

I don’t know if there’s a solution, but no doctor I have mentioned it to has ever done anything but shrug.

My back and shoulders (and hips for that matter) aren’t great since middle of my pregnancy (DD is four). For me it’s a weak core (and everything else) is hard getting back into alignment because some the muscles that used to hold me there are wasted after pregnancy and I am used to relying on others. I saw an osteopath when I was really locked up. Now I see a women’s health physio and should be doing masses of Pilates. I saw them all privately. When the problems began during pregnancy I told a midwife who just said ‘try not to move too much’. Same woman really wanted me to go for a walk near my due date!

Sounds awful. Go back to the docs!

Did you have an epidural and, if so, is the pain anywhere near the area?
I had pain for over 6 months (not as bad as you, though) bra strap level, and I am sure it was the epidural. If you think it might be that, you should get it checked.

Ladies in pain consider fractured vertebra- look up pregnancy related osteoporosis on NOS special groups/ forums - help is put there

My lower back and randomly my hips and knees are sore sometimes, it can appear for weeks on end and then disappear for months.
I finally decided to see an osteopath. Best thing I ever did!
My DC was born frank breech and the labour pains were mainly in my back. I was told that the birth caused the pains. My DC has just turned 6.
