I had a bad cold a week or so ago, fever, blocked sinus etc. All the cold symptoms are now gone but have been left with blocked ears. I do not have a prolem with wax (has been checked) All the usual over the counter remedies have not worked. I have been in steam rooms , saunas etc and there has been no difference what so ever. I feel like have cotton wool stuffed in my ears. Hearing is slightly imparied. I am going to back to see GP on monday, I have heard ( pardon the pun)that a nasal spray with a steroid could be useful. Any one else had this, or had any suggestions?

Don't know, but I have had two ear infections this year and both times, it took about 10 days to 2 weeks after the infection cleared up for my hearing to return fully. I'm not sure the doctor will do much for you as I went back to mine after the first ear infection and said, I'm still deaf and his only response was, it'll take another week to get back to normal.

It is horrid, but think you just have to be patient...
