HI,
I'm exactly the same as you, i had'nt been to the dentist for years as i was absolutely terrified,(would rather give birth than go to the dentist!) But last year when iwas 8 months pg i had awful toothache and could only take paracetamol. I was in tears with the pain and was forced to call the emergency dentist who gave me an appoinment right away. I had to have a filling which compared to the pain i was suffering was really nothing at all. A couple of months ago iwas back having a tooth removed, like yours it was in a bad state, not much but the roots left! Anyway it came out so easily, i did'nt feel anything at all.

pabamella, I was terrified of the dentist, but was very brave and went and had loads of dental work that I needed doing, have had no pain since, please be brave and get it sorted.

Well I've just been. If I require root canal surgery it will cost me £450 !! Oh well, on the positive side the surgery is really nice and I felt at ease.

Yes she did a complete quote. Once I've paid for this I can join the Denplan scheme.

keep clean with toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss and rinse with cooled boiled water (with a spoonful of salt strirred in) after every meal if possible.

try to chew gum after meals if can't brush teeth (exeriszes the jaw and gums).

avoid all hot/cold sugary drinks.

once it's decayed there's no come back and a good dentist is what you need (or emergency dental treatment - check with local hospital).

i hate the dentist (although he is a nice chap) and the hygensist (i hate her as well) said as long as i stick to above routine my dodgy tooth at the back won't get worse and need to be pulled!!
