How long after h pylori treatment did you start to feel better?

Was treated months ago and while the symptoms have definitely improved a lot, I'm still suffering from daily, niggly upper abdominal pain, in spite of still being on lansoprazole. Went back to doctor last month and retest has shown that I no longer have h pylori. Gallbladder scans and blood tests all clear. It's at its worst when sitting down for long periods of time and diet makes no difference. Any ideas?

I felt better almost immediately after treatment. However i was warned that the medication would clear the bacteria but symptoms may not go.

I remember going back to my GP about 5 weeks after treatment due to pain again, I thought I still had HPylori but was reassured I didn’t. Hope you feel better soon OP.

Will PM you.

Thanks all. It’s really hard to balance being patient with “but what if something is really wrong with me and I’m ignoring it?”! I just want to feel better.

@NoSauce did your pain go away by itself in the end?

Yes OP it did disappear after a while. I ate very bland food - chicken, rice, mashed potatoes, which seemed to help. If you’ve been tested again for HP and it was negative be reassured you don’t have it. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Excellent news. I will carry on being patient! :D thank you so much for the reassurance!
