I broke my humerus 7 weeks ago and at the hospital a week ago, they did an X ray and told me the bone had healed OK and they would refer me to a physio - got an appointment for the end of next week.
I naively thought the bone healing meant it would stop hurting so much and I'd be able to get back movement quickly. Instead, it is if anything more painful now I no longer have the sling. The muscle (?) pain is fairly continuous, my shoulder still feels painful to the touch and I can't lift my arm more than 90 degrees. I'm worried I still don't have any guidance on exercises to do and don't know if by trying to move it I'm making it worse as don't know if I've torn something as well (flew off a treadmill so the shoulder was yanked as well as fell on a hard surface).
Anyone able to advise how soon I might start to feel better or what I should be doing/asking a GP etc to do? The pain is so bad I'd consider paying someone to help, which I can't really afford to do, but have no idea what kind of professional I'd need to see anyway.
All suggestions gratefully received.
