My nail is going to drop off isn't it?! Pic included

I very stupidly wore wellies that were too small for a long period of time. This lead to a huge blue/purple bruise on my big toe (although the wellies really didn't hurt much as I wore them!). As I haven't dropped anything on my toe it is the only thing that could have happened.

Blue bruise was there for MONTHS. I think since March! Just took my nail polish off (been on for 2weeks...I know I know) and have a white nail.

Where the nail bed is is very very delicate, like a thin shell and very soft too. I think I properly damaged it. No bad smell and no pain, just feels odd when pressed. Haven't bothered go to the doctors.

I assume my nail will drop off? Probably in time for my holiday abroad Hmm

Oh shitting hell, I just trimmed my toe nail and a load of fluid came gushing out from under my nail!!! Smells a little bit...argh!

It'll drop off and you'll have a freaky looking nail underneath. Eventually your new nail will grow though. I lose a lot through running (currently down 2, and waiting on another one to drop!) No need for any medical treatment though.

Yep. I have one just the same, from walking boots. The fluid has just collected & hasn't been able to get out before. Maybe soak in warm salty water if you're worried.

Thanks both, I find that strangely comforting! More fluid but no smell so I'm no longer concerned. Feel a bit sick as I'm not good with nail injuries. Reassuring to know a new nail will grow!
