Lump on one year old's bottom

A couple of weeks ago I noticed my DD, nearly one, had a little hardish lump on her bottom, right on the edge of her anus like a pile or something. Not red, no blood, doesn't appear to be bothering DD at all. Sometimes it looks bigger than other times. Doc says prob harmless water-filled tag (oedema?) and it's not common but not unusual and may hang around for months or years and just look smaller as DD gets bigger. He has referred to paediatrician for second opinion. Can't find any information about this at all on-line, though - anyone recognise this/any ideas where I can find more info while waiting for hospital appt?
Any help appreciated - not overly worried but in the dark of the night my imagination isn't helping!
Pinchy xx
