slight swelling and crease at the base of 1 year olds spine...

i was giving dd a bath this morning and as she stood up i noticed a small area of swelling at the base of her spine. from this swelling a horizontal crease extends a few inches on each side.

i have never noticed this before, i have 2 older children and have never noticed anything like this with them.

do you think i should get it checked out or am i being silly. thanx

My dd2 was born with a very deep dimple at the base of her spine, which we didn't notice until she was being checked over by a doctor at age 6 weeks. She had to had an ultrasound scan of her spine (it took a few weeks for the appointment to come through), and fortunately everything was declared to be fine.

thanx belgo, i cant imagine it could be anything, as i am sure it would have been picked up before now. but it does look odd. im glad your dds results were fine.
