MEASLES???

DS is under the weather atm - pale, not eating much, slight cough, He has had a cold but seemed to be getting over it. This afternoon he vomited and I'm now worried - we're in the middle of a measles outbreak here and he's too young to have been immunised (he's only 9 months ). Could it be measles?

has he definitely been exposed to measles?

The symptoms could just be a normal virus. Phone your doctor and ask their advice.

Not sure if he has been exposed. We don;t know anyone who's had it, but he has been to playgroups and there have been a dozen or so cases in the last week .

Not sure I can get hold of the doctor on a Saturday, Could try NHS Direct I suppose.

yes phone NHS direct.

I've put him to bed with a dose of Calpol and will see how he is in the morning. If no better I'll ring the doctor - our out-of-hours service is based at the local hospital and I don't fancy battling there on a Saturday night

He isn't as pale, so hopefully just a bug and a night's sleep will help.
