Boil on bum infected? Very painful. How to fix?

I have what I can only assume is a boil on my bum cheek. First noticed it Friday and it has got progressively bigger, harder and angrier.

Now about size of 50p with redness all around and today my groin is swollen and painful on same side too. I've just found some old Fucidin cream from the kids and put that on. Please can someone reassure me this will do the trick? It's so painful.

I would go and see a doctor at an OOH service today. These things can deteriorate quickly and if your groin is swollen it suggests it's spreading. You prob need oral antibiotics.

I agree, this is something that needs to be seen by a doctor.

I would also call ooh GP and get someone to have a proper look . Hope you feel better soon .

If it was Tuesday I probably would happily go and see GP but not sure I can justify OOH. So bloody embarrassing as well! Why would this even happen?!

Hot salt bath, hot compresses 3x a day, big blob of Savlon ,TCP or Sudocrem. Doctors if there is no improvement.

Magnesium sulfate will draw out the toxins very quickly. Just lather it on and put a loose fitting plaster on top. Works a treat.

Had a hot bath and tried to pop last night, no luck. I do have some nappy cream though so will give that a go.

Don’t try to pop it. That can make the infection spread. I would suggest that you go and get it lanced.

No, you need to go. You might end up on IV antibiotics.
