Sore neck dosnt just mean mean meningitis right?

I feel really stupid posting this.
I have had the cold/flu for 3 days so far, last night and this morning the back of my neck is stiff and painful, I'm assuming it is from coughing as I face my head up when coughing.
I Google what's best to take for neck pain and every post was saying meningitis!
I go on holiday today and don't really have time to go to the docs.
So really my question is coughing can cause neck pain right??

You've had a cold/flu for 3 days, and a cough, don't over think things.

I always get sore joints and a sore neck with bad colds so I wouldn't worry too much.

Trying the glass test might put your mind to ease though.

Thank you! I'm honestly not a hypochondriac just full of anxiety for going away and when I read that I was just stressing a bit.
