no periods, not pregnant, day 68

Hello everyone

So I stopped the pill in November. Had my periods since then, and then since March, nothing. I am almost 5 weeks late, and I am NOT pregnant (confirmed by GP)

Had 2 positive OPK (clearblue digital) 3 weeks ago- but no periods, so I believe I didnt ovulate?

I am getting tons of cervical mucus (all looking healthy).

I am now using ovulation strips and at first I didnt have any line at all (on the test one) and now I do and they are getting darker every day. Today it was almost as dark as the control one, if not equal. Does it mean my body is trying to ovulate?

I am obviously considering PCOS but my GP doesnt think so as I am 31 and always had regular periods with no PCOS symptoms. What else could it be? I have been ill with sinusitis since March, could it be that?

The only other cause I know is either an overactive Thyroid gland or underactive one. The former causes weight loss and the latter weight gain as the main symptom but they have their own other problems.

GP can do a Thyroid function blood test.

I don't have any experience or knowledge of PCOS, though.

I got tested for thyroid 15 months ago...do you think it would have developped since then? It might be the underactive one, definitely not the other one. Did a OPK tonight and it was massively positive, so my body is trying to ovulate!

OPKs should be avoided if the menstrual cycle becomes or is irregular in nature. They can give false positive results and this could well be happening here. What the kit has read is an elevated amount of
LH.

You need up to date thyroid test results, anything done over 6 months ago should be discounted.

A day 2 blood test can be done to compare your luteinising hormone level against that of follicle stimulation hormone (such tests can be done according to calendar days if the cycle is irregular). You need a diagnosis first and foremost.
