He had a temperature yesterday, today I kept him from school, he had lunch, but he's now complaining of a tummyache and just lies on the safa, looking very sorry for himself. What can I do? I immediately thought of appendicitis, and yes I'm apprehensive.

keep an eye on his temp has vomited or had loose motions is it painfull when you touch his tummy

There is a bit of a bug around at the mo where they have a high temperature, headache, tummyache and lethargy. It might be something like that.

I would give him a hot water bottle, some Calpol for the fever, and keep an eye on him. If he gets worse, get him to the GP.

And try not to worry.

Sorry if he has a high temp dont give him a hot water bottle, but like wig says there are lots of nasty bugs going round at the mo

hi, thanks for the advice. He vomited later in the afternoon. Has had no temp today. Seems like a bug then, I didn't know there were bugs doing the rounds...

Dd had it a couple of weeks ago. She only vomitted a couple of times over several days, but had a really severe tummy ache and a nasty headache - and despte the fever I did use a hot water bottle (although not very hot) because she was in such pain with her tummy and it was the only thing which would ease it.

It lasted about a week in total.

Hope your ds feels better soon.

That was nasty wwb . Yes, yesterday when I picked him up from school he had a temp and headache. I'm a big fan of hot water bottles myself, I made on to ds this afternoon, but no temp today. One week sounds like a lot of time, he si going to loose the end of the year concert...

Oh, what a shame.

Dd was a bit up and down with it, so maybe he'll feel up to going in for the concert?

Is horrible when they feel so poorly.

WigWamBam · 17/07/2007 20:49

I did wonder for a second or two there

francagoestohollywood · 18/07/2007 10:07

my dodgy English
I think I caught the bug as well...
did your dd manage to eat something when she had it?
