What’s the recovery time for a knee arthroscopy?

I’m hoping someone has some experience of this....

I’m due to have some keyhole surgery to remove a loose piece of cartilage in my knee. I’m interested in the recovery time I can expect, because I’m a full time SAHM to a 3 yr old and 1 yr old!

I’m early thirties, healthy weight and fairly fit and active. Has anyone been through this and have any idea how quick recovery will be?! If it’s too long I won’t be able to do it, as I don’t have family nearby to help! Thanks xx

I had one of these 2 years ago & was up and about the very next day. I had physio afterwards, a couple of private sessions which were helpful, and lots of exercises to do.

For day to day living & driving I was perfectly fine, but I wanted to get back to skiing which took a bit longer (because I also have torn ACL in both knees).

Anyhoo, I am back skiing again now as if nothing had happened. But it took a lot of hard work in the gym to build up my muscle strength & fitness.

Just to add, Good Luck!
