I was wondering if anyone could me their two cents worth....
We are mox feeding our 6 week old boy, and thus far have had no problems at all. He has 2-3 formula feeds at night, and about 4 breastfeeds during the day. He used to get several dirty nappies per day but this has changed. We have plenty of wet nappies per day, but he tends to poo once every 24-48 hours. When he does there's a lot of it and it's not hard or anything, but am just wondering if this is normal and if i should be worried about it. I have given him 1oz of water every couple of days to help things along, but it doeasn't seem to help....any suggestions?

Totally normal. breastfed babies often stretch it out. My DS1 used to go 4 days between poohs. As long as there?s plenty of wet nappies and he?s not in pain or discomfort then I would be happy with it!

No need to give him water btw, plenty of water in his milk IYSWIM.

Second that, totally normal. Exactly what ds did.

Totally normal. DS went for 4 days once - but when it came out finally it went up his neck and down the arm holes of his baby-gro.

He was pretty happy though

you may want to look on the breast/bottle feeding section of talk lots of people discussing baby bowel movements there
and i third what clary says lo i look after used to go upto 5/7 days without going but as long as wet nappies and not in pain i wouldn't worry.
also your 6 week olds intestines are begining to mature and are working alot more efficiently so absorbing exactly what it needs from the milk it's getting, this makes a diffrence on how much they poo.if you still feel concerned i would ring your hv i'm sure she will also say theres nothing to worry about and totally normal.
