Bloody annoying itch on foot WHY??

So for about a month my left foot was really itchy at night. Then I isolated the itch to just one point on my sole. About a week ago I decided to try to see if something was stuck in it with nail scissors.... since then it's just itchy and raw but why? It's not a verucca or wart.
Obviously I'm imaging some form of foot cancer.

Contact dermatitis? Pompholyx? Has your foot come into contact with an irritant? Or maybe a bug?

I doubt it's foot cancer - but I always think everything is terminal too so I feel your pain.

Thanks. It's not funny really - unless I know what it is I diagnose near death.

I hate going to the GP so I thought maybe a chiropodist would know.

I am barefoot all the time (no socks ever) and no shoes when possible so that's really likely thanks
