Has anyone had a CT scan?
I had my long awaited hospital apt on monday, and lo and behold the called yesterday and said I have CT Scan already tomorrow. Feeling a little nervous, what can I expect? How long does it normally take?

I've had about 5 (cancer treatment). It's really no big deal at all. They'll ask you to change into a gown and remove all metal (jewellry etc). You may or may not be given an injection in the back of your hand containing dye. If so, you'llfeel quite hot. They give you the injection while you're lying down.

The ones I had involved staying very still while this donut shaped thing went up and down my body. I heard a voice in the speakers telling me when to breathe in and out.

Takes 5 to 10 mins.

Really, it's a doddle, don't worry.

Hope the results are good for you.

Thanks flowertops for bumping. And thanks mumblechum for the reassurance. Are you ok now? I am not sure what they will find. Going there for my headaches which we thought were sinusrelated, but might not be.

Hi, I've been in remission for 3 years now so hopefully ok.

How did you get on, was it ok?

Hi, it was ok, loud sci-fi like noises, but otherwise ok, and very quick. Wont get apt for results until after school holidays I think. Good to hear it has been going well for you.
