But it was worth it (I think!)
Ds came to me this morning with blisters on his testicles but the nurses at the walk in clinic then the gp didn't know what it was but when we went to the Paediatric assesment unit.
The doctor picked up, before looking into the blisters, the problem of ds pooing his pants all the time and is going to arrange for us to attend clinic to help sort it!
I'm so relieved that finally we might be able to sort this once and for all

Ouch! Poor DS. Glad it is being sorted.

Quiddaitch · 11/07/2007 03:20

poor lamb. so what were the blisters? were they related to the pooing?

MinistryofMamamagic · 11/07/2007 03:30

I think it is like nappy rash, Aitch - I have worked with 8/9 year olds who suffered the same thing - poo in pants = painful bottom and/ or testicles

Boredveryverybored · 11/07/2007 03:37

Yes my dd gets this. She's incontinent and still in nappies. Its like nappy rash but a lot worse. Very painful for them

jabberwocky · 11/07/2007 03:48

Have any of you heard of that dr. in Seattle who is doing a type of neurosurgery for children who have problems with incontinence? Something about the nerves at the base of the spine being too cramped. It's evidently very simple but still not many people doing it yet.

jabberwocky · 11/07/2007 03:49

oops, she's in Portland, Oregan actually.

MinistryofMamamagic · 11/07/2007 03:51

Interesting story, Jabberwocky

Boredveryverybored · 11/07/2007 04:55

My dd has had that operation Not by that surgeon though!
She had it done at 16 months, but the nerves were damanged and it hasn't made any difference to her continence unfortunately.

whoops · 11/07/2007 09:59

The blisters were a form of impetigo because of him not keeping clean down there so are kind of related to the pooing!

what a shame, how does he feel about it?

whoops · 11/07/2007 11:34

I think he feels fine now that the pain is going down!
I have to bath him then dry his bits with a hairdryer before putting sudocrem on!
although he thinks it's quite amusing!
