10 month old with tummy bug - how long to wait before giving milk again?

My DS (10 months) has a tummy bug - was sick at childminders yesterday and the DH gave him some tea and milk before bed. He threw everything up within 10 mins of falling asleep.
Today we've just given him water, banana and rice cakes - he seems fine. Has demolished a whole banana for dinner and a couple of rice cakes. Should I try him on milk before bed, or leave it (if he'll settle)? Don't want to cause him further tummy upset (particularly because I'm struck down myself)

My ds (same age) had this 3 weeks ago.
The dr told me to keep him off milk for 12 hours and juts give water with very plain food and if he hadnt vomited in 12 hours, give him half strength milk (that is if your FF).

Thanks Nbg! He was definitely needing more than water, so I tried him on a couple of ounces of lower strength milk and he seems okay for now - it was me who had to go to bed as soon as he did and now I've just got all the bottles of water ready for tomorrow, I'm off to bed again!
