Cannot for the life of me figure out my menstrual cup

I bought a menstrual cup recently - the brand is 'Athena' which was one of the cheapest ones on Amazon. I know a few people have said menstrual cups just take time/patience and I remember being this way once with tampons, but I've come on my period today and have been trying for the last hour to get this thing in and it's just... not. The instructions say to fold it in half and then twist it when it's inside so it creates a seal. My issue is that I think mine stays folded. I can't twist it because there is only a very tiny stub with which to do so. Has anyone else had this issue? Also are you meant to feel it inside you, as I definitely can - it's not uncomfortable but I'm just not sure that this is how it's meant to be. Perhaps it's the brand, has anyone else started on Athena and then moved to another brand?

I have a mooncup, it’s quite study and pings apart without pressure. You have to hold it firmly to keep it folded, this sounds a lot more flimsy and fiddly. With my mooncup you fold and fold again, insert and let go- no faff or learning required. I used it fine on the first go

I find it it’s too low you feel it, but if it’s in the right position you cannot at all

If you can feel it, it might be too low down. Is it definitely collapsed? You need to run a finger around the outside to check it is fully open at the top. Could try bearing down at the same time. Takes practice but well worth it.

I have a similar issue with my mooncup in that it stays folded and refuses to ping open once inserted. I have the larger size and wonder if that might be the problem.
