I'm 52 and have been home for 2 weeks after nearly 3 weeks in hospital, very ill with PID which had developed into an abscess. The couldn't do any surgery due to my having had previous surgery and the location of the abscess being too close to my bowel wall so I've been treated by extremely strong antibiotics which stop today. I'm not feeling like it's gone although I am better. But I'm really scared of relapse and symptoms recurring. I'd love to hear from anybody who has been through similar or knows somebody who has.
